QS Estimator!

What is it for?
QS Estimator! is a quantity surveying tool to enable clients of PME to quickly generate cost analyses for PME's cellular panel climbing wall system. 

What is it?
It is an Excel 5 worksheet configured as a form. It is in a read-only format with a cut-down menu. This should help protect the original copy of the form. However we recommend keeping a copy somewhere safe.

Data Requirements:
QS Estimator will want to know basic information about the wall; it's size in metres and the type of panels required. These can be wood or glassfibre (ie. flat cellular panels or curved cellular panels) and can be fully featured or featured. The selections of panel type and texture can be either/or/both (both being based on percentages).

QS Estimator will also want to know what bolt-on hold density is required, if any, and whether the wall is to be supplied and fitted by PME, or just supplied.

Output:
QS Estimator produces a cost analysis in tabular form. The items in the table depend upon the selections made in the form. The form can be printed or saved under a different name, eg the project name, using Save As.

Scope:
QS Estimator is restricted to rectangular cellular panel walls with a single reference plane. It cannot cope with odd shaped walls, or walls with more than one plane of reference.

QS Estimator should only be used to produce a realistic estimate for typical walls. The actual cost of a project may depend upon the size of the wall, it's design, the site, geographic location etc.

System Requirements:
A Mac or PC with Excel version 5.

Bugs & Updates:
QS Estimator was written using a Mac and 'tried out' on a PC. it's the first release though and there may be unforseen problem. Any comments would be most welcome.
